Whether you still have some presents left to buy or you want to stock up for kids parties over the coming year, the half price toy sale has started at Marks and Spencer’s and there are some bargains to be had. I have purchased 2 of the above sacks and have filled up on gifts to add to my stash. The sale is also on the decorations and some of the cards and wrapping paper.
I’ve done the mamas, the boys and the babies, so it’s only fair I share some of my favourite tasteful Christmas jumpers for our little ladies. There are not many sizes left in most I’m afraid but you may be lucky enough to grab yourself a bargain now quite a lot of the sales have started.
Last week a lovely group of women and I had a fabulous crafty evening with Clare, the lovely mummy who writes the blog Chaos and Coffee, making Christmas wreaths. At the minute she is holding wreath making workshops (some tickets are still available for Dec 10th in Chorlton) and if you live in the North West I would SO recommend attending. We got to drink presecco, eat cake and chat whilst creating a little bit of Christmas magic for our homes, what is not to love? I have wanted to make my own wreaths for years but I never thought I had it in me to make one, but I suprised myself (and the hubby) when I actally made one that I was very happy with. For a 1st attempt it wasn’t half bad.
Anyhow, I have now become addicted and over the weekend we went foraging for goodies and I made another wreath that is featured on Clare’s blog here. An even simplier wreath than the one I made on the workshop, definitely one to try if you are a little nervous.
Hope this post inspires you to make your own wreath.
Bobby and Daisy’s presents were delivered by Santa in these last year and they were so gorgoeus. Bob kept his toys in them all over Christmas, I think they impressed the kids as much as their presents did! There are some fabulous ones around and John Lewis even have them this year. Here are some of my favourites.
I was thinking that these were my two favourite Christmas jumpers. I love that they are in navy and grey (my fave colours on Bob), but then I looked around further and there are so many beautiful ones about! I’m a little fussy when it comes to a festive knit. I do love the kids to have one, but I don’t want anything over the top or silly.
We all need a Christmas jumper, we really do! Over the last couple of years they have become big business. I have one very similar to the navy one above that I get out every Christmas (well the last 3) and always get comments on how lovely it is. We want it cheesy but not too cheesy, it has to have that element of coolness. My advice is don’t dither, the best ones goes quickly.
Run run as fast as you can, as these sell out real quick. If you spend £35 at Marks and Spencer’s today you get the Beauty Advent Calender for £35. A total bargain as it should cost £250. I bought the leopard print coat I posted about recently, but there are lots of other beautiful items.
This set has been Daisy’s favourite Christmas present! She has played it constantly over the last week and has taken it everywhere with her. The cards are a good size and very sturdy which makes them easy for little hands to hold. They really are fabulous and well worth the money. Daisy and I totally recommend them.
Daisy has always loved books about nature and birds and for years has been trying desperately to pinch her granddad’s garden birds books. Father Christmas brought her this lovely book and this has been brought out on our little walks so she can look for and tell us about the birds she spots. It is beautifully illustrated and Matt Sewell speaks of each bird lovingly and gives them all a personality.
I cannot speak highly enough of these building blocks, they are fantastic! I honestly don’t know who has enjoyed them most in our house. We got the one above which comes with a book that has lots of ideas as to what you can build (which is what my husband has been following) but Daisy and Bobby have enjoyed just making up their own designs. Bobby has mainly made cages for his animals (always Schleich ones). I am very confident that these are a good investment which will be played with for years to come.
Finally if you are thinking about a scooter and can’t decide which to buy I highly recommend the Micro Scooter. OK it’s not the cheapest, but it is seriously good and well worth the money. Daisy and Bobby got the Maxi Scooter for Christmas but previous to this have both had the Mini Scooter. Bob at the moment still prefers this and he has just turned 6, I think it’s because he can handle it better, but Daisy was loving the new one. I hope you have all had a fabulous Christmas and New Year and I’d love to hear what some of your biggest Christmas present hits were.
This is my wish list for Christmas. I’ve noticed as I get older I ask for less and less but love buying for others and watching their faces as they open their gifts. At the minute I seem to be going through a grey stage so the throw and mugs would go perfectly in my house. I love a candle, I have The White Company Christmas one so would love this one for the new year. The Hush diffusers are fabulous and this one is the perfect scent for this time of year, it has a spicy smell to it which makes the house feel like Christmas. The pyjamas I am getting from my mother-in-law but also have my eye on theseones, I do love stars. I have a fabulous Nikon D3100, but it is so big to take everywhere with me so would love this as it would fit into my handbag a lot easier. Finally I love a cashmere jumper and this oneis now reduced. This is a total bargain for cashmere. Hint hint Mark!
These are all things Mark would be very happy to receive. He loves to cook and loves to have a port whilst he cooking! The aftershave he has been after for a while, he doesn’t usually deviate from Aqua de Parma, but this aftershave is seriously gorgeous. He is a big music fan and the Beatles DVD is all of their videos restored to high definition. The scarf is a classic colour and will go with all his coats. The Uniqlo jacket he has and it’s super warm whilst (I think) looking cool. The Kate Bush book is a biography about her life which he has asked for. He would also be very happy to receive this radio or this one (both award winners) this Reaching Out ~ Chess Records At Fame Studios CD and finally this jumper.
