The little black dress…

I always want to try something different and steer away from the little black dress once the Christmas parties start, but for some reason I always end up in one. It’s just what I feel comfortable in. They are always chic, always classy and can be dresssed up or down perfectly. I find with a mini style a flat shoe looks perfect, whilst some of the velvet heels this season are beautiful. In fact velvet this season full stop is magnificent. For me, maybe it’s my age, I love a sleeve and I like a loose fit, I can enjoy one too many mince pies without it showing. Below are my carefully selected favourites. Some of them are included in Cyber Monday.

Marks and Spencer’s bonanza…

Marks and Spencer’s have their fabulous 20% off event on again (code OCT16A16) and so I feel it is my duty to point you in the direction of some of their loveliness. Above and below are some of my favourites. The shoes this season are on form as are the coats. Go forth and shop.

One blouse, 2 ways…

dungarees

1. Topshop Moto Dungarees £48

2. Topshop Pintuck Blouse £36

3. ASOS Ballet Flats £12

I love this blouse so much I thought I would show you how I would style it in 2 different ways. Dungarees are HUGE this season and are everywhere you look on the high street. I love this pair from Topshop. These Next ones are also fab and look really good on.  This blouse is a nod to the 70’s which is again very much on trend for Spring/summer. I love a white blouse, so classic, so chic and will go with so many different outfits. I think the high neck on this makes it so elegant, even with a dungaree. The ballet flats are a complete bargain and again will get worn a lot, for the price you can’t go wrong.

flares 2

1. Topshop Moto Jamie Flares £40

2. Topshop Pintuck Blouse £36

3. Mango Heel Leather Sandals £89.99

The flares are a spring/summer must have and I think these Topshop ones are the best around. I like that they are not so long that I can wear them with a flat. As I mentioned above the 70’s is huge this season and I cant think of anything more 70’s than a platform heel. I’m loving this Mango version. I will SO be wearing them this summer with a white dress. This one from Topshop is perfect.

A Denim Shirt…

Boden Denim Top £59

I’m a huge fan of Boden and my new catalogue arrived the other day, which prompted me to search for some new spring items. This denim shirt would be something you could wear with everything, in any season. Under jumpers, over your bikini with the sleeves rolled up,  with some black skinny jeans or a peg leg trouser . A classic.  It goes up to a size 22 so would also be perfect on a curvier lady. These Dorothy Perkin’s Jeans would be fab with them as they are a darker denim colour.

Dorothy Perkins Straight Leg Jeans £15

These again go all the way up to a size 22. These are soft and really comfortable and would look cool with turn ups.

On your feet I’m still loving these from H&M for a casual day look

hmprod

or these Zara heels for an evening look.
