This book is a must read, I can’t speak highly enough of it. It makes for a calmer, happier home and, as a mum, lead to a lot less shouting and a lot less stress. The basis of the book’s approach is positive descriptive praise to motivate your child to do the right thing. This is in conjunction with reflective listening which helps you manage your child’s strong feelings. The strategies really do work. The 1st part goes through each of these strategies and the 2nd part then gives examples of how to put them into practise. Definitely something to refer back to once you have read it for inspiration.
