So I was just going to take one picture of Daisy with a book of her choice and direct you to the others, but Daisy took this challenge very seriously and wanted a picture of her holding up every book she loved.
1. The Bee Who Spoke: The Wonderful World of Belle and the Bee (Belle & the Bee 1) by Ali MacCuish: This sweet and well illustrated book tells the story of a little girl Belle, who lives in Paris. In the summer holidays she goes to visit her grandparents in the countryside. She takes with her all her favourite items to have adventures with. Since getting this book Daisy has now taken a little notebook and pencil everywhere with her to jot down what she sees.
2. The Paper Dolls by Julia Donaldson: This is one of mine and Daisy’s favourites and always has been. It makes me want to cry as its such a sentimental little book about a girl who’s mummy makes her a string of paper dolls to play with and then she makes her own little girl some paper dolls. Beautiful. Daisy’s next book choice was another Julia Donaldson one.
3. The Magic Paintbrush by Julia Donaldson: As with the last book it’s fabulous. It tells of a little girl, Shen, who is given a magic paintbrush by a man down at the beach. He tells her not to paint for the wealthy but just the poor. The adventures of her then unfold. Beautifully illustrated.
4. Olivia Goes to Venice by Ian Falconer: Finally for today, Daisy chose many more, is our favourite little pig Olivia. Daisy has and loves nearly all of this series but this is one of her favourites. She really seems to enjoy books where the character ‘s are in a different place. It has made her very intrigued about Venice and she has learnt about tourist attractions there.
Hope you enjoy her choices. I’d love to hear your thoughts!
