I am on a mission to free the Jackson household of plastic. The 1st thing I tackled was our plastic bag usage. Horrified and heartbroken to read, see pictures and discover the damage that they are doing to our beautiful world I have made a stand. The plastic bag problem is getting worse every day, they litter our environment, kill land animals and are endangering our marine life. Plastic is not biodegradable, it’s crowding our landfills and polluting our oceans and yet because they are so cheap and thin we hardly fill them or double bag them to make them stronger.
I have watched with tears in my eyes the distressing videos on Facebook of sea turtles who have straws up their noses and are struggling to breath. Looked at the heart-rendering photos of whales washed up on our coasts with their stomachs full of plastic. I knew I had to make some changes. I mean, how good does a bag for life look anyway? So not chic. I do have a love for straw baskets, as you have seen from all my posts on them, my last one being here, but they are not always practical. I wanted something that was usable, could fit easily into my handbag and would look fabulous with my outfit! I have tried lots of different ones and this French Style Net Shopping Bag is the answer. The colours are fabulous and as they expand, they fit sooooo much in. Oh and they’re cheap as chips.
