I truly love to share with you women who inspire me and help me in some way on a daily basis. If they can make me feel special and want to do better then there is the possibility that they could do the same for you. Next up on my ‘ladies doing it their way‘ series is the ever fabulous Natali Pendleton (on instagram here). Natali has a heart of gold. She is kind, funny, informative and shares the most beautiful images of her home and herself in forever classic clothing (her hat collection is amazing). Natali is the lady who urged me to show my face and talk to camera within stories and I always check in on her daily. She is an advocate for boosting other women and doing what makes us happy. I was lucky enough to ask her some questions.
Tell me a bit about yourself
I’m a mum to a beautiful red headed boy with a wonderful personality and I live in Norfolk together with my husband. We are currently renovating a Georgian house and hope to live here until we’re too old to leave!
Where did your love of fashion come from? I always love all your choices and wonder where you get your inspiration from?
Growing up I never thought of myself as fashionable but as time’s gone on I have learnt to embrace my own style. I love masculine tailoring and simple, unfussy clothes. I’m not big on pattern but I love a stripe or check!
Your Instagram has grown so well why do you think this is? Any tips or tricks?
My Instagram account has grown because I spent a long time on the app engaging with people I think. I would be on it every evening chatting to people for hours and often in the daytime too. Engagement is key.
Where are your favourite places to buy fashion from and why?
I don’t have a favourite place to buy clothes from but I love quality items and natural fabrics and struggle with fast and cheap fashion. I think unless you’re stick thin it never looks good. I prefer to have a limited wardrobe and wait until I can afford more expensive, better made clothes that are timeless and will last longer. I favour blazers and 7/8 trousers with heels or flats, a great coat and a good bag.
I’m intrigued by peoples morning routines and how they set themselves up for the day. What is your breakfast/morning routine?
My morning routine is always just a strong black coffee and some silence! I give myself 15 minutes to come round and for the coffee to seep into my bloodstream, then I rush around like a chaotic lunatic most mornings!
In the last 5 years what new belief, habit or behaviour has most improved your life?
Trying to believe in myself and my choices has helped me to be more confident in the last five years. If I’m honest talking through a few issues in therapy have really helped me to understand myself more and be a better person – not that I was a bad person before!!
What impact do you want to have on the world?
I hope I am teaching my son gratitude and that all people are equal, to stand up for what is right and to be a kind and fair person. That is my legacy and the impact I can have on the world, that he can learn through my example.
What do you wish you could tell your younger self?
I would tell my younger self to perhaps try and think more about what I wanted to do and set about doing it by being more focused. I would say you are brave, you are clever and you are talented and with a bit of hard work you will go a long way. Find what you’re interested in and don’t look back!
