After having her own blog post the other day on tween style Daisy has been desperate to have another post all of her own. This time she has decided to share with you some of her favourite books and it’s good that it ties in with World Book Day. Over to Daisy…
I love to read and always have. My favourite time is at bedtime. I can finish a good book in about 3 nights. Here are some of my recent favourites. I would love you to comment and tell me what yours are so I can investigate.
This is book one of a series and all of them are so so good. I was hooked from the start. It helps that the main character is called Daisy. It is about the mysteries that two friends must solve whilst at Deepdean School for Girls. At times is is quite scary but I like it for that and it makes me want to keep reading. I would say it is for age 9 and above.
I have just read this book and loved it. It is about a girl called Harriet who is a geek. She’s not cool and trendy, doesn’t like fashion and gets bullied by Alexa. It’s funny and has lots of geeky information in it which I loved, like an average person laughs 15 times in a day. Harriet is honest and when she gets chosen to be a model doesn’t become something she isn’t. I think it shows that even if you don’t fit in you can still stand out. I would recommend for age 8 and above.
I read this a bit ago but it still remains one of my favourite books and I will probably read it again. It is set in the Amazon jungle where four children are stranded when their plane crashes. They are left to survive alone. Fred has always wanted adventure and to be famous but hadn’t planned on this, he is very brave and I think Max is funny. There a lots of clues throughout the book and the cliff hangers throughout made me want to keep reading, even with all the clues though I totally didn’t predict the end. I would say this is for age 8 plus.
If you like this post and want me to share some more please let me know and I will.
Thanks
Daisy x
P.S, these are definitely not just for kids as I made my mum read them and she loved them too.
P.P.S, here are all our book recommendations from over the years..
Thanks Daisy! My daughter is nearly 10 and I am always looking for new books for her. I would love to hear more of your recommendations x
